Prototyping of Synesthesia was brought to a halt in March when the Coronavirus pandemic forced Thomas Jefferson University to move classes online. Despite losing the ability to test aspects of the structure physically, progress was made digitally through 3D modeling and printing. Access to the construction space was regained in June (with occupancy and social distancing restrictions in place) and Synesthesia was once again erected using the components designed during the online hiatus. This allowed prototyping of the fabric skin to commence with the help of Jefferson's Fashion Design program faculty and the testing of the internal digital components.
